With Mystics and Magicians In Tibet Alexandra David-Neel
First published in 1931 this is the remarkable story of one woman's travels in Tibet at a time when the country was isolated and closed to foreigners.
Wonderfully lyrical, exploring the lives of ordinary Tibetans as well as Lamas and Buddhist religion.
Well written and very interesting.
A must read for anyone interested in travel, history, Tibet, feminism or Buddhism.
